Our roastery
Every Tuesday and Friday morning our 5 kg drum roaster runs in the back room, so the beans in your cup are never more than a few days old. Buy a bag at the counter and we'll grind it for your brewer, free.

Our story
I'm Hannah. I spent ten years roasting for other people's cafés before opening Ember & Oak in 2019, in what used to be a bike repair shop on Columbia Road.
We buy green coffee from a handful of farms we know by name, roast it in small batches and serve it to a street full of regulars, flower sellers and their dogs.

Kind words
“The flat white is properly good and the cardamom buns sell out by eleven on Saturdays for a reason. Lovely team who remember your order.”
“Did the latte art workshop with my partner. Two hours flew by and I can now pour something that looks like a tulip. Mostly.”
“Came for the flower market, stayed for the brunch. Shakshuka was spot on, and they ground a bag of beans for my moka pot to take home.”
